Savannah-Chatham County Public School System

Wayfinding strategy and signage design

The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System serves 38,000 students across seven municipalities and 55 unincorporated areas in Savannah, GA. A still-growing system, it engaged Cogdell & Mendrala Architects to design the new Hesse K-8 School, which is for students pre-K through 8th grade.

Jones Worley worked with CMA to develop a wayfinding and signage program for the 145,000-square-foot Hesse facility that includes core academic spaces, computer labs, a media center, visual and performing arts labs, administrative offices, dining facilities and a gymnasium. In addition and again in collaboration with CMA, the agency completed similar work for May Howard Elementary, Spencer Elementary and Godley Station K-8, also SCCPSS schools.
