Mayor's 5K on the 5th Runway

Visual identity and collateral production

Hosted by Mayor Andre Dickens, the 2022 and 2023 Mayor’s 5K on the 5th Runways welcomed runners as young as 10 years old and of all abilities to lace up their shoes and run or walk the 5th runway at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This is a USA Track and Field (USATF)-certified 5K course and an AJC
Peachtree Road Race qualifier. Sponsored by Delta Air Lines, the race benefits the Mayor’s Youth Scholarship Program and the United Way of Greater Atlanta.

In 2022, The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport marketing department entrusted Jones Worley to evolve the event’s visuals from the prior run’s image of a sunrise to include blue silhouettes of runners on the 5th runway against a blue city skyline.

For the 2023 race, Jones Worley reimagined the creative assets for promoting the event, shifting from previous designs to a new color scheme and image of the horizon. The design replicated a photo finish. The designs were featured on the airport’s website, social media, and indoor and outdoor signage. Flyers, digital marketing materials, and other promotional items were also created.
