To address Southwest Airlines’ passenger needs, Tampa International airport engaged Alfonso Architects and design-builder Beck to develop the Airside C Terminal that included 16 gates. The terminal also has an automated baggage conveyor system, a four-car passenger transfer system, concession and retail facilities, and 10 security screening lanes.
As a member of the design team, Jones Worley was responsible for developing a comprehensive wayfinding and signage program for effective navigation. The design had to complement the architectural structure of the exposed concrete columns and four walnut-clad organic forms that support a 7-acre aluminum, standing-seam roof.
