Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport
Gateway, wayfinding and Signage
Jones Worley partnered with LS3P and GSP to develop a new signage and wayfinding program to replace the outdated exterior system. In addition to discovery, analysis of existing signage and design concepts, a comprehensive Master Plan was developed as a guideline for future signage implementation for the 3500-acre airport roadway system, parking garage and rental car center. The 80-page plan encompasses design and implementation for over 40 sign types and includes preliminary sign location plans and messages. Colors and materials echo the airport’s signature blue as well as stonework used in the campus landscape. The main identification pylon is over 30 feet tall and serves as a branded beacon for the airport’s 2.6 million annual passengers.
