DeKalb 2023 State of the County
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The 2023 State of the County Address for DeKalb County would not only highlight the county’s achievements of the past year but also celebrate its 200th birthday. Jones Worley was honored to work with DeKalb’s government to produce several assets, including a bicentennial logo, used to commemorate the historic milestone.
For the State of the County event, the agency was asked to visually tell the history and significance of the venue, Pullman Yards, a large 1904 building owned for decades by the Pullman Company as a repair shop for its own railcars.
CLIENT
DeKalb County Government
LOCATION
Decatur, Georgia
ASSIGNMENT
Collateral and premiums development, visual identity development, and storytelling
The theme was carried through the design and content of invitations reminiscent of a train ticket, the tri-fold event program, an acrylic paperweight, and 14 banner pop-up and backdrop displays. Event attendees were well-steeped in the story of Pullman Porters and, by relevance, the history of DeKalb County.
Also, during the event, three renowned DeKalb Countians were awarded the county’s “Bridge Builder” award. Jones Worley coordinated production of the awards in lightning speed after the third recipient was identified at the last minute. That same speed was used to format and produce the printed event program, with final details coming in the evening prior to the next day’s late-morning ceremonies.
